Hooray~

This painting went through a lot of phases and a lot of them were ugly but now I'm pretty satisfied with the result.

The count says hello.

Because I finished them.

Chuck Palahniuk needs something, but I'll figure it out later. Probably some sort of text, that's my crutch lately.

SeewhatImean? Lol. Tom Waits as painted on a record of...some hymns or something.

Onto Space Madness

Stolen from [info]amanohashi

1. Open Paint
2. Close your eyes
3. Draw a cat!

I took the cat to the vet today. The wound looks really gross but she said it would heal fine.

I don't think I've posted about Ken Nordine before, but I just remembered his song/poem "Burgundy" and decided to post about him. Whenever I hear the word "begin" or "beginning", I think of one of two things. Either Ken Nordine's "Burgundy" where he invents the word "burginning" or Jeremy Hillary Boob PhD. saying "Begin the beguine".

...But that's neither here nor there. Here's a youtube thinger of Ken Nordine's "Green". Nordine calls it word jazz and I got into it after I heard my Life Drawing professor play the album "Colors" during a model session.

Enjoy-

In other news, me and Celeste and Jon and company shot off some fireworks tonight and it was kind of really awesome and the first time my sciences badge actually came in handy, lols.

Also my cat's either been bitten by another cat or pecked by those damn mockingbirds that nest in the tree he usually lays under. Anyway, it looks nasty, but I'm tired of paying out the ass for a wound that may or may not heal on its own. I'll take him to the vet if he starts losing his appetite or being lethargic, but as far as I can tell, he's fine for the moment.

A little blurry, but this is basically what it looks like with text.

Also, I just had to wipe my cat's ass with a wet paper towel or he wouldn't have stopped dragging his ass on the floor (which was actually sort of funny because I've only seen dogs do that).

Kill me.

This was probably a mistake since I don't read as much as I'd like to and since I'm halfway through about 30 books.

OscarCon was AWESOME!

We saw Rachel Getting Married, Frost/Nixon, In Bruges, Vicki Christina Barcelona (which was only good because it had Javier Bardem in it lols), Revolutionary Road, and Milk.

They were all pretty good and we made commentary and jokes about each and every one 8D

Which is what we do at OscarCon. Every goddamn amazing year.

We left out Slumdog Millionaire intentionally. I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard is that it was enjoyable to movie buffs but by no means "Best Picture". From non-movie buffs (and people who don't get out much) I hear it's "AMAAAZING AND SO EXOTIC".

I think I'll stick with my Moons and Away We Gos, thanks c:

My favourite out of them was a tie between Milk and In Bruges. SO GOOD. Never thought I'd actually LIKE a Colin Farrel movie, though I was half expecting his eyebrows to crawl away. Rachel Getting Married was a close second (third?).

I know I seem to talk about TeeFury a lot, but I wanted everyone to know about this one.

This artist who has been all over the tee community and gets printed very often has just been exposed as tracing most of, if not all, of her work. It's incredibly upsetting that these tracings are going up for sale and making her a fat load of coin for something I could do easily but have enough integrity not to do. I'm sorry, tracing photos for money is a big no-no. I learned that in middle school.

Please scan the comments for proof, I overlaid the image onto the original photo, she could not have gotten so exact without tracing.

I'm not saying you have to GANG UP ON HER or anything, just remember the artist if you ever happen to enter/vote in the tee community. She does not deserve my respect and she definitely does not deserve my (or any of your) money.

Hopefully this one might get shut down soon.

SO.

I am now the proud owner of 15 Star Trek novels (Plus the 4 library books I have to read) and I think my prized one has got to be this:

It better be the Vulcan version of Elmo's World or I'll be pissed.

Unfortunately you'll have to wait until I finish this book

which is this long

And probably the other library books I'm reading, but don't worry, they're short.

I love gifs.
